Comms 101 hosted the official launch event to celebrate FIND BUILD SELL officially hitting the shelves. The business owners guidebook compiles NSW’s Business Leader of the Year; Stephen Hunt’s 30 years’ hospitality experience and tips and tricks for a booming business. Guests were treated to an exclusive fireside panel chat with Stephen and guests Michelle Smith, Cath Antaw and Annette Pulbrook.

Whilst guests enjoyed the hospitality for which The Kent is renowned, the panel discussed and answered questions surrounding building a business and tips to pivot underperforming businesses and passion projects into a roaring success, echoing the book’s sentiment and content.

Guests also experienced a first-hand account from Stephen as to how one of Australia’s most successful publicans turned his $100 backyard beer garden into a $100 million dollar empire.

Stephen Hunt Community Grant Revealed

To celebrate the release of his debut novel, successful publican and Director of Hunt Hospitality  also revealed a commitment to donating a community grant to support local grassroots businesses and initiatives. Stephen is already a huge grassroots supporter, including his work with Hunter WIldfires and other local sporting teams, and Shoot Your Local, the ‘Stephen Hunt Community Grant’ is a natural progression of his passion relating to local communities.

The $4,000 bi-annual grant creates a start for self-sustaining business ideas. The applications are open to anyone from startups, entrepreneurs, people wanting to start side hustles and local and national small businesses. The only criteria is that the applicants can clearly demonstrate how the funds can make a real difference to both them, and the wider community.

The final 10 applicants will be invited to pitch their final idea to Stephen and a VIP panel, with one idea winning the grant to help turn their vision into reality.
